Pomegranate Martini

Better call Uber... this is one incredible cocktail! Each chilled drink boasts the perfect balance of tangy pomegranate juice, sweet orange liquor and tart lemon. And the delightful pop of pomegranate seeds sends one clear message: this drink is special. And you are special, so you deserve it.

I adore this flavor combination; plus, the textural contrast. Even if you don't imbibe, this makes a killer virgin cocktail with seltzer instead of vodka. What a great way to embrace the non-drinkers and kids at the party!

And those refreshing seeds... I almost always have a bowl of pomegranate seeds on my counter for my boys. As they whip through the kitchen, they grab handfuls "for the road". The only downside is the trail of red-stained floor tile (and errant seeds) I find around the house. MOST of the seeds make it in their mouths, but...

About the vodka: I used non-flavored vodka in my version, but you can certainly use a flavored vodka if that's your jam. Lemon, orange and pomegranate flavored vodkas would be amazing.

Note: If you don't have a cocktail shaker, don't fret. Simply combine the pomegranate juice, vodka, orange liquor, and lemon juice in a pitcher and chill (great when you want to prep ahead). You can even serve the mixture over ice if desired.
