Moist chocolate cake, dipped in the most amazing white chocolate... Emojis just make each pop a little bit sweeter...
I wasn't planning to write an actual recipe for these cake pops because they're soooo easy. But, just in case you want to try them - here you go!
Emoji Cake Pops
1 package chocolate cake mix
1/3 cup chocolate or vanilla icing, or more as needed
12 ounces white chocolate, or melting chocolate wafers
Cake pop sticks
Parchment paper
Oil-based food coloring
Bake the cake as directed on the package (9x13 would be the easiest!). Once the cake is cool, crumble it into a large bowl. Add the icing and blend with your hands until you can form the mixture into balls, adding more icing as necessary (every cake mix is different).
Shape the dough into balls, each about the size of a golf ball. Insert a cake pop into the balls, transfer the balls to a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until firm, about 1 hour.
Melt the chocolate in a bowl nestled over a saucepan of simmering water (or in the microwave - checking and stirring every 30 seconds).
Dip the cake pops in the melted chocolate and allow the excess to drip off. Return the cake pops to the prepared pan and freeze until set, about 15 minutes.
Using a small brush or toothbrush, create emoji faces on the cake pops!
Makes about 2 dozen cake pops
