Cheeseburger Egg Rolls

Everything you love in and on your burger - onion, garlic, ketchup, mustard, cheese - rolled into a baked egg roll. Yes, baked, not fried! Easy, fun and one heck of an addition to your party spread.

Serving suggestion: I served these for dinner, but they would make an amazing party appetizer! And, serve the egg rolls with extra ketchup and mustard on the side. My son also wanted hot sauce... he puts hot sauce on practically everything (except cake).

Turkey works too! Feel free to use ground turkey instead of beef if desired.

Cheeseburger Egg Rolls

1 pound lean ground beef
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
12 egg roll wrappers
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Add the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute, until the spices are fragrant. Stir in the ketchup and mustard and cook for 1 minute to heat through. Remove the pan from the heat.
Arrange the egg roll wrappers on a flat surface, with one point (corner) facing you. Spoon the beef mixture (about 2 tablespoons per egg roll) onto the middle of the egg roll. Top the beef with the cheese. Fold the point nearest you over the filling. Fold in the sides and continue rolling up. Use water-moistened fingers to wet the last point just before finishing the roll (this will secure the roll).
Transfer the rolls to the prepared baking sheet and brush with the olive oil.
Bake for 15 minutes, until golden brown.
Serve with additional ketchup and mustard if desired.

  1. I'm not a fan of ketchup, so I think I will add bacon bits. After cooking I will serve it with shredded lettuce.
