Pepperoni Pizza Pull Apart Bread

Guaranteed to win over all your friends and family! Chewy artisan bread, laced with sauce, cheese and pepperoni. The hardest part is sharing...

A note about the bread: Choose a good quality bread from the bakery section of your local grocery store. The shape doesn’t really matter (round, oval), but the quality pays off in the end. You want something with a crisp exterior and chewy interior – such as sourdough and ciabatta.

Pepperoni Pizza Pull Apart Bread

1 loaf bread, preferably a good quality artisan loaf (round or oval)
1 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup sliced pepperoni
1 teaspoon oregano

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Arrange a large piece of oil on a flat surface.
Using a sharp serrated knife, make several horizontal slices in the bread, about 1 inch apart. Now make the same amount of vertical slices, creating a cross-hatch pattern.
Place the bread on the foil. Spoon the sauce into all the openings in the bread. Fill the openings with the cheese and pepperoni slices. Sprinkle the oregano over top. Pull the foil up and around the bread and wrap completely. Transfer the bread to a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Unwrap the bread (to expose the top and sides, leave the bread on the foil) and bake for 10 more minutes, until golden brown.
