Buttery Mashed Purple Potatoes

How pretty are these? We love mashed potatoes in our house, and I wanted to jazz things up by adding a little color to the plate! 

Buttery Mashed Purple Potatoes

1 pound purple potatoes
2-3 tablespoons butter
2-3 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons ranch dip powder 
Salt and black pepper

Peel and cube the potatoes and place them in a medium saucepan. Pour over enough cold water to cover and set the pan over high heat. Bring to a boil. 
Boil for 10 minutes, until the potatoes are fork-tender. 
Drain and return the potatoes to the pan. Add the butter, milk and ranch powder and mash until smooth. 
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
