I got a pretty interesting press release yesterday and thought I'd share it with you. There's a new cooking competition coming to your town - and it's called Rival. The face off between two chefs will be live and interactive, meaning folks will enjoy the entertainment (watching two famous chefs compete), while eating a multi-course dinner. But there's more. The guests not only taste the food, they judge the dishes!
The "arena" is set up like a typical cooking competition, with two dueling kitchens. The cool thing is, guests are seated around the action and have the opportunity to vote on dishes and change camera angles with an app. Pretty savvy if you ask me. Over 100 chefs are already on board, and each event will host about 200 hungry guests.
The first Rival event isn't slated to start until 2015 (mid-year in San Francisco), but Kickstarter is offering advance tickets (you can even check out the seating chart). After San Fran, Rival will offer ongoing, live culinary experiences with rotating chefs in cities across the country, including LA, NY, Chicago, Philadelphia, Miami, Seattle, and Las Vegas. Watch the Rival Kickstarter video to learn more.
They're not paying me to share this with you - I just think it's pretty sweet. We'll finally be able to taste the food and judge the chefs - like we do in our virtual realities at home!
