Strawberry Candy Cane Strudel

Flaky pastry, tart jam and sweet powdered sugar. Each bite delivers a little crunch and a little chewiness. And can you believe this winner has just 4 ingredients? And, it's super easy to prepare. I think it's great for dessert, but consider adding it to your holiday breakfast and brunch spreads too!

Strawberry Candy Cane Strudel

1 sheet frozen puff pastry dough, thawed according to package directions
2-3 tablespoons seedless strawberry jam
1 egg, lightly beaten
Powdered sugar

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Unroll the puff pastry and roll out to about 9x13 or 9x14 inches.
Spread a thin layer of the jam all over the pastry.
Roll up tightly.
Transfer to a parchment-lined baking pan, brush with the egg, and then use a sharp knife to make slits (stripes). Pinch the ends of the roll to seal.
Spoon a little more strawberry jam in the "stripes".
Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, until puffed up and golden brown.
Dust with powdered sugar and, if desired, add a little more jam to the stripes!
Slice and serve!

Makes 1 strudel, serves 6-8
